Batman: Year One

This comic book story was written by Frank Miller and is the retelling of Batman's origin story. Out of the other Miller stories I have recently reread, this story is my favorite and must have served as a major influence for Batman Begins. For example, the ultrasonic device that summons a swarm of bats enabling a stealthy gateway for Batman was used in this story and in the movie. In the comic book, there was also a panel showing a newscast where there was a report on a Wayne Tech plastics breakthrough. In the next panel, Batman is shown using a glider floating over Gotham City. The rest of the technology used by Batman is the standard fare of Batman equipment. Overall, the ultrasonic device and glider may be something to further investigate.
